Pogba: City can be caught

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is upbeat about his side’s chances of beating runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City on Sunday.

The France international, who is suspended for the derby clash after being sent off when United won 3-1 at Arsenal last weekend, is also upbeat about Jose Mourinho’s team catching City.

Pep Guardiola’s outfit are currently eight points clear of United but Pogba insists things change quickly in football.

Manchester United are 12/5 to beat their local rivals on Sunday and 10/1 to win the Premier League title outright.

“If I don’t believe [that United can catch City], I stop playing football now,” said Pogba. “They need to win [on Sunday] because they know that we are behind and we are closing and closing.

“Unfortunately I won’t play but I will be there to help the team mentally. I need to be there to boost the team and hopefully it will help.

“Manchester City against Manchester United has always been a big, big derby. One city, two clubs.

“It’s going to be a big atmosphere in the stadium and a big game with a big team and big players, so that’s the game you want to play. I have complete trust in the team.”
