The 25-year-ol Egypt international has been in scintillating form since joining the Reds in the summer from Italian outfit Roma, having previously struggled to make an impression in the Premier League with Chelsea.
Second time around in England he has already scored 17 times for the Merseysiders this season, including a league-leading 12 in the top-flight.
That tally includes two when Salah came off the bench in midweek to help wrap up a 3-0 victory at Stoke City, a performance Hughton was clearly impressed by.
He told reporters: “He’ll be difficult to face that’s for sure. He’s been in good form for the last few seasons, but most people in England may not have been so aware of that.
“At the moment he’s outstanding – he started on the bench on Wednesday and still managed to come on and score two goals – that shows the real quality he has.
“He scores different types of goals as well, so we’re very conscious of both his form and his abilities.”
The Seagulls welcome in Liverpool having lost just one of their last seven Premier League games and that was a narrow 1-0 defeat at Manchester United last weekend.
Brighton are available at 7/2 to claim a draw on Saturday, with a 1-1 final scoreline priced at 15/2, while Salah is a 5/1 shot to score two or more goals in the game at the Amex Stadium.
