Conte happy with Hazard form

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte believes that Belgian forward Eden Hazard is finally getting close to top form after struggling with injury earlier on in the season.

Hazard had scored three goals in his last two games heading into the clash with Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday and, while he was unable to get on the scoresheet in the 1-1 draw with the Reds, he was very much to the fore for the visitors.

And afterwards Conte was full of praise for the performance of Hazard and the link-up he effected with Spanish striker Alvaro Morata.

He told the club’s official website: “At the start of the season it was full of trouble because he had an injury with the national team and we started the season without him.

“When you have this type of injury and you need surgery, it’s important to have the best time for your recovery.

“Eden is now in really good form. He likes to play as a striker and there is a good link with Alvaro. For me it’s an opportunity to play with two different systems.

“Against Qarabag (in midweek) we played with a 3-4-2-1, here with a 3-5-2, but we must not lose our identity in both cases.”

The reigning Premier League champions are back in action on Wednesday evening when they welcome Swansea City to Stamford Bridge.

Perhaps surprisingly, the Blues have only won one of their last four meetings with the Swans, that a 3-1 league victory at the Bridge in late February.

Chelsea are 1/6 to claim all three points on Wednesday and are 5/1 to win the game 2-0, with the hosts 8/13 to keep a clean sheet.
