Denmark and Slovenia will face off in the final match of Euro 2024 qualifying at Parken in Copenhagen. Denmark has accumulated nineteen points from their first eight matches in Group H, leaving them four points behind third-placed Kazakhstan. The Red and Whites secured back-to-back wins against Kazakhstan and San Marino, scoring five goals. They have won each of their last four Euro qualifiers and aim to extend their run this week. Slovenia, having only made it to a European Championship once in their history, is in good position to make it to Euro 2024 in Germany. Denmark’s Matjaž Kek’s side is currently level on nineteen points with Denmark, having won each of their last four games. Denmark will not want to leave Friday’s game empty-handed.
Denmark will be without Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund for the November international break due to injury. Eriksen suffered a knee injury during the Premier League game against Luton Town, while Hojlund suffered a muscle injury in the second half. In Hojlund’s absence, RB Leipzig striker Yussuf Poulsen could lead the line, while Pierre-Emile Højbjerg will watch in the middle of the park.
Jasmin Kurtic, who made his 86th and 87th international appearances for Slovenia, is 15 away from becoming the nation’s record appearance-maker. However, he is unlikely to start Friday’s game. Panathinaikos striker Andraž Šporar and RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Šeško are expected to reunite in the final third, while Jan Oblak will continue playing.
