International Friendlies | Slovenia VS Armenia; Wednesday 05 June at 00:00 GMT +8

Slovenia has finally made it to the European Championship after a 24-year wait, finishing second in Group H. They have two manageable tests ahead, with recent form indicating they should be able to defeat Armenia and Bulgaria. Slovenia has grown significantly as a national team in recent years, and it is likely they will secure a spot in the knockout stages of the EUROs.

Slovenia’s home soil is a strong advantage for their team, as they have been invincible at Stadium Stozice. Armenia, on the other hand, has fallen short in their quest for a first-ever appearance at any major tournament. Despite an impressive start to the group stage, they have only one point in their next four assignments, ending their hopes of EURO qualification.

Oleksandr Petrakov’s men are heading to Ljubljana with a miserable eight-game winless streak, which has led to six consecutive losses. Armenia will struggle to put up a fight against the in-form Slovenia, who dominate on their home turf. However, with Fatje’s defense proving tough to break down, it is expected that they will cruise to a sure victory in a less heated affair.

Matjaz Kek’s June friendlies roster includes former Atalanta ace Josip Ilicic, who has a stellar season at Maribor, and Sesko. Udinese midfielder Sandi Lovric, sidelined since April due to a muscle injury, is expected to be fit for the Euros and June friendly matches against Armenia and Bulgaria.

Armenia has added Krasnodar star Eduard Spertsyan to their squad following the withdrawal of Inter midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Head coach Oleksandr Petrakov has included new players for June friendly matches against Slovenia and Kazakhstan, primarily from the domestic Premier League.
